Don't pay the sales tax in the state you are buying the trailer... you pay 
the sales tax in your state, the one where you will register the trailer!

Because the dealer in GA didn't quite grasp how the SC DMV worked I had to 
use the plate off my 21 foot trailer for 6 months while they got my 
registration figured out.  I figured cops 1. rarely stop Airstreams..... 2. 
weren't likely to measure the trailer.....

I'm serious about sales tax.... you pay it in your state when you register.
