I have been following the posts on pullers and have just returned from our 
local Chevy dealer where I spoke to the service manager about the Duramax and 
Allison. His early reviews are 1. Duramax no problems good engine. 2. Out of 
10 vehicles equipped with the Allison, 2 needed to be replaced. Problems with 
shift points that couldn't be reprogrammed properly, Of one of the two that 
has been replaced, the owner still is not satisfied, the Allison Tech is 
expected shortly to review. He said the transmissions are extremely large and 
believes when they get the bugs squared away they will be the best thing 
going. He was very candid about these things, maybe because it was 6am. we 
were the only ones in the shop, or maybe his is just tired of replacing large 
trannys. Any way take it for whatever it is worth.
