Re: [A/S] Airstream Pullers

Hi Harvey,

I don't know why you want answers off list... the point of the list is
discussion....

I am pulling a 7300 pound Airstream with a 1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty with 4
WD and the powerstroke diesel engine. It's the crew cab, short bed and has an
automatic transmission.

I have 46,000 miles on it... the first 44,000 were while I was fulltiming. I
criss crossed the Rockies, went up and down the mountains like the trailer
wasn't there. I did equip the truck with a BD exhaust brake & torque loc
which I would do again in a second!

I get approx 12 mpg towing and 15-16 around town. The Dodge gets much better
mileage not towing(21 mpg).... but doesn't have a crew cab so I got the Ford.

Oil changes every 3,000 miles cost around $60-70.00

Would I buy this truck again? In a New York minute. I would keep it if I
didn't have any trailer.
