[A/S] Charging problem

Help!  One of the batteries on my 83 31' Excella seems to be disconnected
from the charging system.  The batteries are six years old, and I plan to
replace both of them, but first I have to repair the charging system.  The
ground cable is OK on the bad side - the tester lights connected to the
positive on the good side and the negative on the bad side, so I assume I
have a problem somewhere in the positive cable between the battery
connection and the charger,  The cables go through the battery box and under
the trailer.  Do I have to pull the sheet metal under the trailer, or should
I work from the inside?  I don't see any cables going into the charger.
Does everything connect underneath?  Thanks.
