Are you looking at the tag on the receiver bar itself, or the text 
moulded into the bumper surface?  My bumper has the 5000/500 rating.

I just went out and looked.  Thank the Lord my neighbors already know 
I'm nuts; they thought nothing of seeing me lying under the rear bumper 
in the rain.  LOL.  My cross bar says 10,000/1000 weight
distributing, but 5000/500 weight carrying.  Is it possible the wiring 
harness is covering the top line of your tag?  Or is part of the tag 
possibly rubbed off?  I'll get some digital shots of mine
for comparison tomorrow.  (Cameras at work, natch!)

If they installed the wrong bar, I'd be all over them like white on 
rice!  Your F-250 has the same listed tow capacity as our F-350, 10,000 
pounds.  I sure wouldn't be a happy camper (NPI) if that is

not the case.
