Re: [A/S] WBCCI membership question

Norma,

I second Terry's recommendation. I live in Lubbock, TX, some 1800 miles
from DC but am a member of the Washington DC Unit. They are a good group,
from various parts of the US and Canada, not bound by geography but by a
common interest. Only a couple of members actually reside in or near DC.
They make a great home club and then, as Terry suggested, you can become an
associate of any local unit you decide you like. The advantage of
approaching membership from that direction, is that you will not be locked
into being a member of a local unit unless you choose to join. You will
have the polite defense or already being a member of a unit. That is much
more graceful than joining and then possibly learning that you don't enjoy
your local unit or being forced to choose between two units based close to
your hometown. Also, as a member of the DC unit, you are not obligated to
participate in a continual string of events because the members are so far
flung. You can participate as an associate member of local units after you
decide.

Wayne and Linda Moore are members and officers of WDCU and monitor this
list. Linda has just become
membership chairman if my feeble mind serves me correctly.
