You know that's a good point about travelling with dogs... they force you to 
get out and about, which in turn leads to meeting a lot of people you might 
never had any contact with.

The dogs are big conversation starters....... almost every one likes a dog. 

I also do alot of exploring because of their walks.

The only places I had prolems with them were desert places.  Moab Utah comes 
to mind as being the worst. The place is full of "sticker paws" The poor dogs 
walked about 10 feet from the truck and froze. They refused to walk. I 
carried them, one by one, back to the truck and saw these stickers in their 
feet. My fingers were bleeding by the time I got them all off.  Arizona, New 
Mexico.... California (the desert part) were all hard on the dogs.
