We have aGolden Retreiver who went to our first Rally last fall and got 
along really well. We thought he'd bark while we were away, but the 
folks next door said "Oh, we didn't know you had a dog". I
guess he settles down on the front sofa and looks out the window till we 
come back. (Leaves hair on the blanket.)
A lot of other folks had "big dogs"  too and frankly I think they travel 
much easier than the small ones. Seemed a lot less "upset" and "yappy".
I guess the best thing I can tell you is to bring them along on a short 
outing and see how they do.
