Re: [A/S] Safari Spare

Jack,

I would also assume the factory can make the change which is minor if it is
done when the frame is lying upside down on a build rack. One of the handy
things about Airstream is that the company service department is only 200
yards or so from the assembly line. Modifications not suitable for the
assembly line can be accomplished after the trailer rolls of the assembly
line by hooking it to their trusty old farm tractor and towing it around to
the service department.

Likewise, owners like you and me can have factory-quality repair or
modification work done in the service department by men who have previously
worked on the assembly line or at least watched them built.

If you decide against the expense, it is cheaper and easy enough to buy an
aftermarket or used wheel, mount a good tire, and throw it in the back when
towing if you tow with a pickup.
