I'm a newbee to RVing so I try to learn as much as possible in my armchair
rather than behind the wheel.  The Tekonsha brochure for my Tekonsha brake
controller says that operation of the break away switch while connected to
the tow vehicle will destroy the brake controller?

Possibly the egroup has experience with this situation that they would like
to share?

Here's what the Tekonsha brake controller brochure says:

"2.  Reversing the connections to a breakaway battery on the trailer will
destroy the brake control.

 3.  Disconnect the trailer plug from the tow vehicle prior to testing a
breakaway switch, or you may destroy the brake control. "

#2 seems like the instant "melt down" might destroy a lot more than just the
brake controller!

Hope this thread prevents a costly test of the switch.
