Hunter,

I think "SD" refers to the Ford Super Duty p/u like yours.  When the new
Super Duty 4 x 4 Fords were first introduced several years ago they were
very tall in the rear, too tall as I remember for the underside of the
over-hitch front portion of many conventional 5th wheel RVs to clear when
resting on the hitch in the truck bed.  I remember reading about the
controversy in Trailer Life.  I think Ford quickly responded with a field
modification of the truck's rear spring/axle mounting hardware which was
dealer installed at no charge by Ford dealers to lower the truck's rear end.
Maybe the writer had the rear of his/her truck lowered with the modification
kit and then didn't need the drop hitch.
