There have been a number of recent comments on the list regarding failing or
failed plasticoat finishes.  The factory finish on my '93 first began to
fail noticeably about this time of year in '95.  Apparently the cold weather
causes a deteriorating plasticoat finish to become brittle and lose it's
adhesion to the surface.

For anyone who is contemplating a new plasticoat finish, I strongly
recommend P & S Trailer Service who advertise in the Blue Beret and are
sometimes recommended by the Airstream Factory.  P & S is located in farm
country north of Jackson Center on US 6, not far from Bowling Green and
Toledo, OH.  Steve & Kevin Ruth do excellent quality work at fair prices and
stand behind their work without making excuses or denials.  Besides, it is a
nice trip up to northern OH and gives a devout A/S owner an opportunity to
make the pilgrimage to Jackson Center.

this era we live in, good service for fair prices is not guaranteed.  As far
as I know P & S is not even monitoring this list.
