I wasn't aware that anyone thought the trailers were "shoddy."  I 
owned, until recently, a 23 ft. 1972 LY Safari.  It was solidly built, 
and not too shabby, IMHO.  It was aluminum extrusions and plastic 
laminates, which made it light (empty wt - 4050#).  The tambours were 
some kind of composite material.  My only gripe was the lack of a 
greywater tank and the dark color.  It was a nice unit.  I definitely 
wouldn't call it "shoddy."
