RE: [A/S] Airstream lite

Kimm,
I don't have one of these, but sounds as if you are talking about the
somewhat new Safari line. They are designed to be lighter weight and less
expensive than the regular Airstreams, sort of a retro Airstream. They are
available in 19' 23' 25' and 27' lengths, with the 19' being called a Bambi.
Interior height was no different from the Excella (6' 3 1/2"). Width was the
same also with the exception of the Bambi which was 5 1/2" narrower. The
main difference seems to be in the weight of the trailers. The 1999 25'
Excella with twin beds has an empty weight of 6000# while the 1999 25'
Safari with twin beds only weighs 4920#. 1080 pounds less for those who do
not like to do the math!

Sometime in the 80's I think that Airstream offered a narrow body (vs the
wide body which is standard). I do not have any info on these, but have seen
them in the past. Perhaps this is what you are thinking of?
