Width was the same also with the exception of the Bambi which was 5 1/2" 
narrower. The main difference seems to be in the weight of the trailers. The 
1999 25' Excella with twin beds has an empty weight of 6000# while the 1999 
25'
Safari with twin beds only weighs 4920#. 

The biggest difference in weight between the Bambi and the heavier Excellas 
are two:

1)   The metal frame which supports the entire trailer si significantly 
lighter in the Bambi. It is shaped like an open " U " bar, where the 
traditional widebody Airstream has a complete square frame member. Holding 
those trailers together is much more reliably accomplished with frame members 
built to last.
2)  The amount of wood in the higher end Airstream, versus press board and 
composites.

Other differences in weight like number of batteries, number of axles, 
wheels, spares, awnings, etc, vary with sizes of Bambis. But the top two 
differences seem constant in the newer, less expensive models.

Designed to appeal to the buyer watching price more than durability.
