RE: [A/S] black tank

Scott,

I had (very sad it's not mine anymore) a '65 Globe Trotter with what sounds
like exactly the same type set up.  Mine had a 1 full piece rear bath made
some kind of fiberglass.  Sink, shower floor, toilet seat riser, and walls.
The toilet looked just like a very miniature home unit.

Anyway, Yes, the black water tank is under the seat riser.  The seat unbolts
from inside.  An easy way that I got to the underneath originally was to go
in from the right side.  I had a 1' wide closet next to the toilet.  I cut a
hole in the side wall of the closet, in the area that would be underneath
the riser.  Saved piece for cover.  It worked well for access, although
limited.

Many years later the plastic type tank cracked.  The only way I could get it
out was to drill out all the rivets underneath the rear of the trailer.
There was no wood floor there.  Maybe removed earlier, but didn't appear so.
Was able to remove tank this way.  Whatever kind of material the tank is
made from is 'weldable' at a welding shop that can do plastics.  But it was
like $300 and I felt that to be really steep, but I couldn't find any other
replacement tank.  

My best suggestion or tip, is to install a 'clean out' kit, found at most RV
stores, or the back of RV magazines.  It consists of some tubing, a hose
connection, and 3 or 4 sprayer things.  You drill some holes around the top
of the tank, insert the sprayers and seal them, wrap the tubing around to
each sprayer and put the hose connecter some where where you don't mind
having it hanging out.  IT makes tank clean out really nice.  When emptying
the holding tank, instead of having to stand inside with the spray hose, you
just hook up a regular hose to it, and the sprayers do the rest.  Awesome
addition.
