[A/S] Re: EU3000is , Honda
Jim, I am not sure that I understand what you said here. I am
admittedly electrically challenged.
1. Please tell me how I know if I have a 3 stage charger.
2. Do you mean that if you plug the RV AC power cord into a gen set
to run AC appliances like the air conditioner then at the same time
it
would charge the batteries through the univolt (standard converter?)
and this is bad? Please clarify.
I have wondered about the power draw of the furnace fan and how much
it can be used on bat power only before drawing it to low. Any
opinion? I guess your suggestion about the meter and a little
understanding of the principles involved would be useful.
I have read much about solar setups here without really understanding
a great deal other than they can be usefull when boondocking and
there is a relatively high cost for the initial setup. I have heard
some input from those with gensets (including the EU300is also with
relatively high initial cost) who say that the cost of the solar
equipment is to high to justify especially if you are in a hotter
climate that would require an air conditioner that can't be used with
solar provided DC. What is your opinion concerning this?
