I have no ides about the RPM but it is a brush type motor with only 2 
field windings. I would guess at about 1200 RPM under load. The 
rotation didn't change with a change of leads, it always went 
clockwise looking at the shaft end. I think (based on 40 year old 
memories) that rotation in a DC motor is a function of brush 
orintation to field winding.
