Jim:

I've blown out the HWH as you say, before and after.  Then, while 
blowing air, I pulsed the pressure up with my thumb.  Seemed to help. 
I haven't fully decided whether to rely entirely on this "blowout" 
method, or to pump antifreeze in.  It's still important to get the 
lines blown out well, of course, to avoid diluting the antifreeze.
