RE: [A/S] Where To find Model listing.
22TDS0443
John, we now know your coach is a 1960, 22 footer, and here is the
breakdown on the number above. (as far as we know)
22 is length in feet from bumper to ball usually plus or minus 6 to 8
inches and in some cases exact. TDS , we think means Twin, and
Double, and the S is for Santa Fe Springs plant. The "0" is for 1960,
and the 443 is the sequence number on the production line.
Additionally, 1960 models were the end of the era of leaf springs, and a
new decade. Your ID plate is special, with a large emblem of Wally Byam
with his Beret and a flag with a pilot wheel . It may say "Land
Yacht", and if it does, that model was referred to as a "Two Sleep" on
the electrical schematic. In essence, it did not have a model name, but
was just referred to as a "Land Yacht". How do I know all this
triva?.....cause I had one. Your interior does look different, so it
could be a Safari. Clean up that cool two tone Wally emblem and post a
photo. 1960 is the only year for that neat emblem.
