Several Vintage Club members have cleaned the piece and polished the
aluminum.  Then they used wide masking tape (you can see through it) and
with an exacto knife cut outlines of the letters, removing tape from
parts to be blue and sprayed with matching blue paint.  two even coats
and after a day to dry, remove the tape.  Have not tried this myself on
an Airstream logo but have on other lettering.  I think I'd test it out
with polished scrap aluminum and the paint I'd be using to perfect the
technique.

P.S.  most paints look better on a primer coat of flat white.  I
recommend Krylon or Rustoleum as the two best quality ready mixed spray
paints.  Krylon dries faster than Rustoleum.  You may, however have to
have a paint mixed to match Airstream Blue.
