Re: [A/S] Aluminum wiring

C.,
It's not possible to simply pull new wiring through the walls. Here's
what I did with my '68 G.T.:

Pulled all fixtures, removed the wirenuts, checked to see that the
connection hadn't overheated, coated the wires with anti-corrosive paste
(got it from the local True Value Hardware), then reinstalled the
wirenut. Did the same to the connections in the control panel; remember
that all of your 12VDC wiring is also aluminum, and at least as prone to
corrosion and overheating as the 120VAC circuits.

Generally speaking, we avoided operating any high-current appliances
such as heaters and coffeepots. You should know that a connection can be
very bad indeed, but won't heat up if the current draw is low. When you
really start drawing the juice, things must be right up to snuff.

If you want to make things absolutely "right", Gerald's URL has the way
to do it. Be warned that it isn't going to be cheap.
