Toby, the 6,100 is the max trailer weight when fully loaded that the 
vehicle is rated to pull and it has nothing to do with the GVWR of
the 
truck or the trailer. 

The truck and the trailer both have a GVWR. The actual weight of 
either the truck or the trailer should not exceed the GVWR. The truck 
has a GCWR. The actual weight of the truck and trailer together
should 
not exceed the GCWR. The truck has a max tow rating. The trailer 
weight should not exceed the tow rating of the vehicle.
