If I remember Larry Huttle's talk correctly at the Sugar Creek rally a
couple weeks ago, he
mentioned that the new finish will not be available for recoating the
oldies. I think he said this new finish was applied at the sheet aluminum
factory, not the Airstream factory.

It is a fluorocarbom-based coating, I think, so might have finally solved
the peeling problem if both flexible and UV-stable long term. I think we
consumers are Airstream's "laboratory", so we may not know for a few years
how well it actually works.
