OK, finely got in touch with Andy at Can-Am.  They only use Hydraulic
controllers (won't even recommend an electronic one).  You guys are also
correct, they no longer make them (no one does).  Andy basically keeps his
eye out for units that are surplus at various locations.  He said that if
you find one laying on a shelf, basically all the hydraulic controllers that
were made are good ones.  Plus they are typically marked very low because
most places do not know they can be used with ABS so they sell them to get
rid of them.

Go figure, there is no consensus on a great electronic controller, and
everyone who ever owned a hydraulic controller liked it (never heard a
discouraging word) and now they do not make them {:(
