Re: [A/S] ADMIN: FAQ for this List
I tend to agree to the above EXCEPT if anyone could take all the
topics/questions, say from the Patterson site and be separate the
reasonable solutions to the problems from simple observations, chats, and
speculations which could be consolidated listed under FAQ's then we
would have a super reference manual. There has been some intimation that
maybe this effort will be made in the future thru the Vintage Club but
this would be a monumental effort. For a long time Patterson actually
did some screening and kept the best of what came up from the list(s) but
as the traffic kept growing I think it got just to much. It is easier
just to save it all and with his improved computer capability and his
indexing it is a fine reference point. Charlie Burke also had a good
site for FAQ at the A/S web site. But if someone could screen all this
material, index and catalog it, they could probably produce a very good
how to do it book or web site on most common problems that have repeated
question. But what a never ending task that could be. So the FAQ
thought is not quite as a spurious it seems and suspect this might be
what our list member was getting at . However, if anything like this
should be attempted I think it would be advisable to be a joint effort of
the Airstream List, the Vintage List, the two Airstream web sites, Tom
Patterson, Charlie Burke and a few others, maybe even the A/S Corp(Thor)
so there would be SINGLE effort and SINGLE result and not a duplication
of effort.
