At the Bismarck Rally this past July, I spoke with the FanTastic Vent representatives at their booth in the exhibit hall - they were the ones who told me about the curved flange. I don't recall that it was designed specifically for the Airstream, but for trailers/rv's with curved roofs. They were quite specific on this point. tuna '49 Clipper wbcci #8862, VAC.
