And 120 volt lamps that were on would have blown. A refrigerator heater
wouldn't have been happy, though it might have survived, all depends on
how much its over designed. The Univolt may have survived, though the
general consensus is that there are much better replacements on the
market today. More likely the owner remembers the plug was odd as the 30
amp 120 volt RV plug which sort of resembles a 240 volt plug and from
that thinks he plugged it into 240 volt. All the connections, aluminum
or copper will be poor and need cleaning and tightening at the minimum.

I'd kind of expect a trailer ignored for a long time to be a mass of
spongy wood and mold.
