Yea, I was surprised when they arrived from Airstream, I expected aluminum,
like the original.. But the plastic is the replacement part from Airstream.
In the original, the center was a double layer plastic to serve as a
skylight. Over time it had completely disintegrated. I kept the old ones and
might get them repaired someday. The plastic ones work for now and still let
in filtered light.
