HI Everyone,

Just as my letter to all of you didn't make Mailmuncher.... Tom's letter to 
the VAC list didn't make it to his list either.  So, at Tom's request, I am 
posting his letter on this list so those of you who are on both lists will 
know what's happening... his letter of Augusrt 23rd..........

As most of you are aware, we have been experiencing problems with our new 
server.  In particular these problems appear to be "eating" some of the list 
posts.  Although the switch to the Mailman sign-in and sign-out procedure has 
resulted in many new options, our new server still needs some time to be 
reconfigured.  

Because of this, our discussion list will be closed down within the next few 
days.  This close down will continue for somewhere between 30 to 60 days as 
hopefully these problems are resolved.  The option of returning to majordomo 
is not an option as majordomo was causing just too many other server 
problems. 

It is my understanding that the list run by Hunter Hampton will be moved over 
to the egroups during this same time frame so that may be an option for some 
of our members.  I do not know the date of this move but expect it to happen 
rather
soon.  That could also be an option for us but frankly I prefer to stick with 
the formats that we have and wait until we have secured a commercial free 
server and service.  

I apologize for the inconvenience of this and look forward to when our group 
is back up and running.  We will post a notice of this on the Vintage 
Airstream Club web site once it is back up and running.  I expect this to be 
in early October.
