Re: [a/s] New vs. Old
Dear Gerald,
Most state parks have spaces big enough for trailers larger
than my Safari 25C. I have not yet been turned away. The same
is true for USFS campgrounds. In fact, I've not even been turned
away from state park campgrounds that have NO TRAILER SPACES! I
called ahead to the Lumber River State Park (NC) superintendent and
asked if there was a place nearby where I could stay while I visited
the park. He said that although they have spaces for tent camping
only, come on down. "We'll find a place for you." He did too.
I certainly don't recommend depending upon that level of
hospitality, but it goes to show just how well-intentioned these
folks are. Also, 25 feet is a fairly short camper. Almost all
campgrounds I've visited can handle 31+ feet, and I've only seen
one or two that don't have room for a trailer of 25 feet.
Take care, Tom
