[a/s] Old vs New

In answer to the query about which is better comes the old line "everything is relative."
I always had a feeling that people buying new back in the 60's and 70's probably complained about quality control on their Airstreams and probably had nothing good to say about how they were treated by Airstream. It was the same talk then as it is now (and the same with any other goods or manufacturer).
Wellll, as I wrote earlier this summer we heard true stories when we met the original owner of our beloved '72 31' Excella 500. He did nothing but swear about 'our beloved' and to him it had been nothing but a piece of s___ and Airstream did basically nothing to honor the warranty in 1972! We had a good laugh on our way home remembering his stories as they were all such a surprise to us.
We love our vintage and if we had plenty of money we would get a new one.
