We made it there and back with no
problems!
The truck pulled great, I could run 70-75 mph as
long as the road was fairly smooth. On some of the roads the truck and trailer
wanted to "camel" as I put it, bounce front to rear. I have a class three hitch
with load transferring bars and a sway bar. I added air shocks on the back of
the truck and put in 110 psi in them. These made a great difference from the
time I towed it home.
Running 60 mph or more I was able to run in
overdrive with no problems through the rolling hills of Iowa.The truck seemed to
have plenty of power left if needed. The gas mileage was not to good, around 7
mpg, but what do ya do? More horse power or fuel economy, can't have both with a
gas engine.
Everything on the Airstream worked
great,stove,fridge,a/c(thank god, it was 95-100 degrees everyday), water and
sewer systems.
If anybody has any questions I'll try to answer
them.
I have a question, has anybody ever had there
shocks replaced on there older airstream trailer's? If so what kind? Can you use
a normal light truck shock that has the correct mounts and
length?
