Re: [a/s] Ford Explorer Tires

Tom,
I'm not saying they are evil, and I do really understand the immensity
of the logistics. However; there is no way
that a corporation isn't making decisions on which area of the country
gets switched out first based on likelihood of cost/casualties. If
there is anyone out there with these tires who uses that vehicle as a
primary car, who doesn't want them switched out right away, they need to
lighten up on the Prozac. As the commentator on PBS said last night.
He'd go to the nearest COMPANY OWNED dealer and park there till they
gave him new tires, cause he's not willing to drive his wife and kids on
demonstrably unsafe tires. When I buy a used vehicle; trailer or car,
the first thing I do is get new tires if they are bad. Brakes and tires
rank as the two most important safety features in my mind. It is up to
us to demand what we feel we need from corporations, especially when our
lives are on the line. You are right, and it must be outrageously
difficult to implement this program. Many other companies have just
tried to ride situations like this out by stonewalling and ignoring
evidence. These guys are facing up to the problem.
