You are towing with a vehicle that is much to light weight for the size 
of trailer.  You have the tail wagging the dog.  I would also have 
someone go over your hooking up procedure to insure you are getting 
things tight enough - presuming you have a load - leveler type hitch 
system.  As noted in another post I met  a couple  1 1/2 yrs ago pulling 
a "98, 34ft Airstream with a Ford Explorer and was a bit amazed. He told 
me it was the Pull-Right Hitch that made it possible that he even towed 
with a slightly small SUV prior to getting the Explorer. Incidentally  he 
was a retired Ford Design Engineer.
