[a/s] Diesel Smell in the Trailer - Diesel for Daily Use - Not as a Regular Puller

I have wondered too about the diesels smell permeating the trailer - how bout the garage - any smell in the vehicle itsself.  My friend a long time mechanic didn't recommend diesel for everyday use.  I live in Colorado at about 5,000 ft., he cautioned about a vapor lock in the mornings for the run when its cold out.  I'm genuinely interested in buying one of the new Suburban 2500 3/4 ton, although most of my use will be regular driving and not towing the AS [don't have it yet Bo(  ].  I drive 60 to 120 miles daily.  I'm interested because IMO you only get the real value from any "new" vehicle by keeping it in good condition and holding on to it for as long as possible and with that in mind - buying a new Burb 2500 and driving it for 500,000 miles possibly over 10 years.  Again it would be mostly used as a "car", a bit of overkill I know, but "oh well".

Your advice will be most appreciated.
