Bob, you tell Jim that you definitely hear
the compressor come on when you 
followed his instruction.  I mentioned
earlier that on a 73 model with an Armstrong it would start cooling on 
Cool "High" but cut off and would only
continue to cool on the "Low" setting.

Charlie is right about when Airstream no
longer purchased Armstrong (they were
bought out by Gibson) in 1969.  But the
A/S company had gobs of stuff on the lot
and continued to use what they had until it
was used up, which is why you will find
an Armstrong on some of the 73 models.
