*Always* add a valve when replacing plumbing, it gives you flexibility when
you're woking on that toilet the next time.  The first house I owned was
built without any local shutoff valves...ANYWHERE...what a pain in the
patootie.   Everytime I wanted to change a faucet washer, I had to shut down
the pump.   Needless to say, that situation was rectified in a big hurry!
