[a/s] Water Tank woes redux

Hunter and fellow listees -

We will be staying in upstate NY with Ann's sister which is across the street from where the property
we are buying. Ohio is a day's drive from where we are.

I do not think that they factory can fix the trailer in a week. The frame is sagging fore and aft. The
shower leaks from the bottom, or so it seems. The floor is rotten. The door is still sprung after at least
four tries to fix. The sheet aluminum the "West Coast Repair Facility" hung has popped one rivet,
leaks and has very sloppily applied decal/trim across it: dirt and bubbles underneath. The light they
were supposed to fix was "fixed" by replacing the fan blade!! Is my English bad? I told them the light
flickers; they replaced the fan blade. Duhhh. Needless to say the light still flickers.

On the plus side the new digital camera is excellent for recording all the flaws in the coach which I
have done. I will give the AS folks a copy of all the flaws, pictures, movies and text, on a CD and keep
a copy for myself. I don't like litigation; I don't like lawyers and I don't like courtrooms. But I am not
afraid of them. I have kept a log of all my communications with AS and their responses and will have
the photos. If I am forced to I will hire one of the shysters who specializes in "Lemon Law" cases.
California seems to have a tough "Lemon Law" as does Texas. We bought the coach in California. I
figure that if I was able to wrestle a Mexican insurance company to the ground and get them to pay for
a totalled AS I can take on a company which exists within the US. The Mexicans must be prosecuted in
Mexico so you can see I had only a small chance except that I had documented everything, had all my
records and was in the right. The only difference with AS is that the company exists in the US.

I just hope that they do the honorable thing and fix the coach. I am confidant that they will. They have
acted honorably so far. But it is one thing to talk the talk and another thing to walk the walk. In short,
I have complete confidence that Airstream/Thor wants to make this coach whole. I am absolutely
confident that they will do so. But I am keeping all my records just in case which any prudent person
would do. I will let you all know how I fare.

We leave for a few hours for Ohio. We have our three Schipperkes with us and my sister-in-law's, too,
making four. Two people and four Schipperkes in the truck. Good thing they all get along. We will
stop in eastern Ohio whee I will finish documenting the damage and flaws on the coach and create CD
for AS and myself. Sunday will be an easy drive to Ohio. Monday morning we will meet with the AS
rep who has honestly been very good so far. THen we drive back to NY state for at least a week to
await news form Ohio. We are scheduled to pick up the coach the following Monday. I doubt they
will have it fixed by then but I am hopeful. If they do we will have to park in in NY state at the
sister-in-law's and await the death of my father-in-law who is failing rapidly. The old trooper is 90 and
his insides are failing. He played "immigrant league" soccer with the twenty-year-olds until he was 47
and walked on his hands into his mid-50's. He was tough as nails. He is a great old guy and really
sick now. I pray his end is mercifully and painlessly close as do the rest of the family.

Best to all you folks out there in AS land.
