The existing copper tubing had either expanded from
freeze damage or it was not the same size that is available today and I Could
not get compression or sweat fitting that would work to make some repairs. After
several days of talking to plumbing supply stores and feedback from the list I
decided to go with the Pex. As I had mentioned there were several previous
splices in the existing copper with rubber hose so this same problem had come in
the past. Al least now I have a complete system that can be repaired easily if
needed. Believe me this was not the project I wanted to start with on my
refurbishing project, but once I got started with the Pex things went very well.
Its great to work with.
