By all means join the WBCCI and VAC.  Information can be got at
http://www.wbcci.org/ .

Look for a lot of vintage activities at the Washington, DC Unit.  Lots of
vintage (airstream) folks there, and some of the rallies are not too far from
Chicagoland.
