I am also interested in floor coverings from the 60's.
I recently purchased a 63' Safari 22' from the original owner.
Carpet was the only thing I didn't really like....although I've already 
replaced the curtains.
I found linoleum underneath....not in great shape....I plan to tackle that 
this summer.(I'm a teacher and will have some time off) I read someone's 
e-mail in the past few weeks about replacing the linoleum and putting throw 
rugs. What do you think? I do love wall to wall carpet. Hmmmm????
I love reading all this info.....I am very new to the whole Airstream Thing. 
I am trying to locate a good used tow vehicle.
