Everyone that has looked at this swears that it has not expanded due to
freezing, its uniform all the way on both the 3/8 OD and 5/8 OD. My local AS
repair shop said he sees this all the time on older models, this is a 1976.
So, what he recommended was replacing the copper with "PEX" plastic tubing
and that what I have decided to do. He said this has become the standard in
RV's and mobile homes. I bought the material from a local RV parts place
here in Houston, PPL, and they have a big display about how it all hooks
together. Much easier than copper. This would be a bigger job except I
already have everything exposed and the kitchen and bath faucets and  shower
are already disconnected so I can get to it pretty easy. This PEX material
is easy to work with and uses special compression fitting in 1/2 and 3/8. I
am not going to replace the main feed line that comes in under the kitchen
sink. I am also relocating the water filter that was right next to the
univolt system to someplace under the sink. I have been working on this for
three days with no progress, so at least I should be able to make some
headway now. Wish me luck and I will let everyone know how it goes.

The 76 came with an everpure water filer system. Any suggestions on a
possible replacement that may be better since I have it out. Thanks
