Re: [a/s] Re: Refurbishing 1976 Airstream

Don - That Harvest Gold would have looked good
compared to the Hot Pink top layer in my '75! The
bright blue / green shag under it didn't appeal to my
tastes either, so I ended up with bare wood floors
also. I used "sheet vinyl" (which is the generic name
for the linoleum trade name). The local Lowe's had a
12 foot wide product with 3 inch squares embossed
(like tile) in a near white. I bought 9 feet of it and
by cutting the bedroom / bath next to the living room
/ kitchen, I was able to get the floor covered in 2
manageable size pieces with a metal threshold strip at
the bedrrom "door". I was able to tuck the edges under
the furniture for most of it so there are almost no
exposed edges. I will add some additional pieces
inside the cabinets, etc as we travel. It sure made
the inside look larger, but as we haven't traveeld
yet, can't say how it works out.
