Re: [a/s] What A/C for my 63' Trade Wind?

I have been researching/looking for an a/c for a '73 Argosy (24 ft) that has
never had a/c, A/S in Ohio recommended the Duo-Therm, and the installation
of the drip pan (the trailer has an outlet tube and pre-wired for an a/c).
Another net.list person recommended a Coleman without the pan (let water run
down the side). Today I stopped by the A/S shop in Winston Salem, NC (Out
of Doors Mart) and had an extensive discussion with the service manager
(Tony) he highly recommended the new Carrier a/c unit, the cost of
installing the Duo-Therm with pan is approx.
$ 900-$1,000, there are many instances of the drip tube being clogged, etc.
etc. He stated the new Carrier recirculates the water and only a minimal
amount is discharged when the unit is shut down. To make a long story
short, I'm leaning toward the Carrier even though the aesthetics of having
water dripping down the side of the trailer is troublesome.
