Yep, hubby and I did the same.  We each have Nextel's and the two way on
those works well, (Digital mobile phones with a "walkie talkie" feature),
but in some areas they don't work.  The hand helds work GREAT, and believe
it or not, the range is incredible.  It works BETTER than my CB!
