RE: [a/s] Towing Question Can-Am

Can-Am has conducted tests comparing tow results with the Intrepid and a
Suburban. There were slalom courses, stopping tests, etc. run at a local
drag strip. the results were produced in an advertisement or a periodical
distributed at Ontario trailer dealers.

Personally, I would not tow with the smaller vehicle, for several reasons (I
have a 1 ton). I worry about liability and endurance matters. On the other
hand, I wonder what a comparison of weight ratios with tractor trailer
combos (tractor to trailer) would show? Also, until only recently tractors
did not even have front brakes installed as a safety feature to prevent
jackknifing. 

One thing is for sure, though; when manufacturers produce towing capacities
for passenger vehicles, not trucks, their main concern is to protect their
warranty liability/durability.

Jeez, I find it very strange to be commenting on the opposite side of this
issue!
