Ok.  The reason that the system did not work before was because your battery
had fallen way below the threshold for powering the 12 volt fixtures.  It
was probably completely dead.

I recommend keeping a good charge on the new battery for a while and if you
are on line current a lot, check the battery water every couple weeks to
make sure you are not evaporating it.  Also keep a small 12 volt drain so
the battery and univolt can keep charging.

If you are not on AC line, than a good road workout with the puller's
alternator supplying battery charging is just as good.
