Re: [a/s] Question Zip-Dee Awnings

ZipDee is still in business and can be reached at 847-437-0980... They will
send the manual but that dosen't help today...

The process is fairly simple, but I find it a 2 person project.....

1. On the upper part of each of the arms is a "faucet handle" like device
that locks the arms to the trailer... Unscrew and pull away from the
arm....(each side)

2. Each of the arms looks like its made up of two parts, one that hooks
into the longer part at a point about 2' above the bottom... Unhook the
shorter arms and let it hang free. (each side)...This is important, because
if you try to pull the awning out with the two parts hooked together, you
will bend up the arms and have a bad time until you get new parts...

3. Grab onto the loop that is hanging out of the awning somewhere in the
center and pull it out far enough so that the arm that is hanging free can
be hooked to the "axle" of the awning. (each side)
If your loop is lost, just pull out on the arms (one person each side)

4. Now that you have the awning extended, the lower arm can be adjusted
(length) to raise the awning to an acceptable level....(each side)

Putting it back up is reverse the process... let the loop spiral off to the
side a little to prevent a bulge in the center....

If you are working on this today and don't get a response from someone with
a scanner, and you feel the need for the pictures, post me and I will get
over to Kinko's today for the file...

Good Luck

Jim
