You don't furnish enough information :   what size trailer?   In any
event,  backing up is a learned accomplishment,  by experience only!  
Suggest finding a commercial semi driver to do this for you if possible. 
  Some RV tow  drivers may be adept at it if they have a lot of
experience.     The gear rario?  by all means get the lowest gear (4;10) 
and it will   
get you up the hills better and  will aid in backing up (especially under
your circumstances)
